CPP Investments to pump $1.75 billion into EQT and EdgeConneX’s AI data center build-out

CPP Investments, in collaboration with EdgeConneX and EQT, is planning to establish data centers. This week, it was revealed that CPP will be investing US$1.75 billion to facilitate EQT’s AI Infrastructure expansion, which is being spearheaded by EdgeConneX. The deal has been completed. – Google Maps.

Extra information about the investment, such as which projects the funds could be used for, was not disclosed. Max Biagosch, the senior managing director and global head of real assets at CPP Investments, commented, “The demand for digital infrastructure is rapidly increasing worldwide, driven by the ongoing adoption of cloud and AI technologies.” By partnering with EQT in this investment, we are expanding our presence in a sector that benefits from strong, enduring demand factors.

Established in 2009, EdgeConneX has a worldwide presence, with 80 data centers either in operation or under construction in over 303 markets spanning North America, Europe, APAC, and South America. Starting with smaller-scale data centers in the US, the company has broadened its focus and coverage, venturing into build-to-suit and hyperscale facilities.
