Flexential acquires 110 acres outside Dallas, Texas, for 108MW data center campus

Flexential has acquired land in Texas for a new data center development.

The company this week announced the purchase of 110 acres outside Dallas in Kaufman County to build its fourth and largest facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

Located in Talty, the first phase of development will see 375,000 sq ft (34,840 sqm) and 36MW of data center capacity developed, designed to support wholesale and multi-tenant colocation workloads.

The site will be able to host high-density workloads, offering densities of 150kW per rack. It will use a closed-loop cooling system to reduce water use.

Work is set to begin in early 2027 for a late 2028 launch date.

At full build-out, the site could host three 36MW buildings, for a total of 108MW.

“Dallas has the strongest combination of demand, infrastructure, and growth potential of any data center market in the country, and the development pipeline can’t keep pace,” said Ryan Mallory, CEO of Flexential. “Companies are planning two and three years out and still struggle to secure the infrastructure they need. This property will let us deliver large-scale capacity designed around our customers’ requirements instead of asking them to adapt to whatever happens to be available.”

Across DFW, Flexential also operates facilities in downtown Dallas, Plano, and Richardson, totaling 28.4MW across 459,000 sq ft (42,642 sqm).

Flexential was formed in 2017 after investment firm GI Partners merged data center firms Peak 10 and ViaWest. The company has more than 40 data centers and 360MW of capacity online or in development across 18 markets in the US.

Flexential’s portfolio spans Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Louisville, Minneapolis, Nashville, Phoenix, Portland, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, and Tampa.
