At the yearly MUSE conference \u2013 known as #MUSEInspire \u2013 a MEDITECH user-group event run by actual end-users of the company’s EHR system, I was able to attend a presentation given by LiveData. I left the session with a fresh appreciation for how a well-run, transparent Operating Room (OR) can benefit patients, clinicians, and the healthcare organization as a whole. The takeaway? Without an electronic OR system, staff have no choice but to rely on manual methods such as Post-it notes, phone calls, and CDs to communicate and access the information they need.
