The fund has already made several investments into the Vietnamese market, including a 100MW wind project in central Vietnam.. The renewable capacity is expected to support Foxconn’s expansion within Vietnam, where it already has a significant production presence.. Commenting on the news, Daniel Cheng, managing partner and head of energy for APAC at Brookfield, said: “This partnership underscores the scale of corporate demand for renewable power in Vietnam and reflects a broader trend we are seeing across Asia Pacific: as manufacturing, digital infrastructure, and electrification drive demand for power, corporates are increasingly seeking reliable, cost-competitive clean energy solutions to support their growth.”. The investment is Brookfield’s latest within the clean energy space. Within the US market, it has signed two large-scale deals with hyperscalers Google and Microsoft. In July, the firm inked a 3GW hydro power deal with Google. Before this, it signed a 10GW energy framework deal with Microsoft..
