Gerchamp, a company that provides modular infrastructure for AI and high-density computing, has unveiled its modular AI data center portfolio. This new offering brings factory-assembled power, liquid cooling, backup, and control infrastructure to locations with available power and limited space.

The portfolio includes 500kW all-in-one systems and 3.5MW multi-container deployments, allowing AI compute to be deployed at the edge, on-premises, behind the meter, and in remote locations without the need for conventional data center construction. This indicates that AI compute is becoming more closely tied to the workload.

With AI tasks shifting towards the source of data and areas with accessible power, the deployment of infrastructure is transforming into a site-specific issue. The production plants require immediate visual analysis. Telecom operators are handling growing amounts of local traffic and video.

AI must operate on operational data in industries like oil, gas, and mining where connectivity and data center capacity can be scarce. Building a new data center may not be feasible within a reasonable time frame in such circumstances. The AI infrastructure must be compatible with the existing power, space, and location circumstances.

It requires a flexible platform ranging from 500kW to 3.5MW. Gerchamp’s architectural structure is planned according to this transformation. The vertically integrated platform incorporates various components such as power, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, UPS, Nickel-Zinc battery backup, BMS, DCIM, and power distribution into factory-assembled systems.

These systems can be delivered within months and powered up within weeks. The portfolio comprises an all-in-one 500kW system that incorporates the necessary infrastructure to support AI compute in a single container.
