The US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has begun accepting bids for its Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability Unified Cloud Marketplace (JWCC UCM) ‘core’ contracts.. DISA is seeking cloud service offerings including tactical Edge compute services across unclassified, secret, and top secret security ratings, as well as reserved instances meeting the same security clearances, and support services.. In total, all contracts awarded have a combined upper ceiling of $21.6 billion, and each individual contract has a minimum value of $100,000..
The bids are open to US-based hyperscale cloud service providers, including the likes of Google, Oracle, AWS, and Microsoft.. DISA’s Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois is managing the procurement.. News that DISA was working on a new JWCC program first emerged in August 2025, at the time estimating a Q1 2026 launch date.
DISA was said to be exploring working with smaller businesses that can offer “a wide range of information technology” services through the JWCC program.. According to the recent SAM.gov notice, this is the first solicitation from DISA, with future JWCC UCM opportunities expected to be launched at a later date..
The previous JWCC contract, valued at $9bn, was awarded in December 2022 to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google, and Oracle.. It replaced the previous Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) contract, which was announced in 2018 and was set to be worth $10bn over ten years, and was planned to go to one vendor – Microsoft.
