Gemini gets a dedicated app for Windows 10 and 11

Google has released a native Gemini app for Windows 10 and 11, expanding its desktop AI software after launching a Mac version earlier this year.. The app is available for immediate download and can be opened with the Alt + Space keyboard shortcut, matching the shortcut-based access offered on Mac..

Google said the app is intended for quick desktop tasks, including checking facts in documents and generating title ideas for presentations. The Windows app integrates with other Google AI products, including Gemini Spark, and can work with Gmail and Google Drive.. It also supports image and video generation through Nano Banana and Gemini Omni.

Google said the app is “lightweight and quiet,” and said it would not slow down Windows PCs.. Google also said more native desktop capabilities for Gemini are planned in future releases.. Featured image credit.
