On Wednesday, Instagram announced the addition of an AI video assistant to its Edits app, a competitor to CapCut. This conversational chatbot provides personalized feedback to creators rather than general advice. Using Instagram metrics such as follows, views, video retention, likes, and shares, the assistant combines them with comments, Instagram trends, and audience interests.
According to Brett Westervelt, leader of the Edits app, the assistant can identify patterns in a user’s performance over time and provide actionable insights that are difficult to see from the metrics alone. Westervelt explained that the tool was developed in collaboration with a group of creators, who expressed a desire for a tool that handles analysis, rather than one that takes over the creative process.
The Edit Assistant performs the research on your behalf. Your imaginative appeals remain yours.”. In June, Meta showcased the Edits AI assistant at a exclusive event for creators, revealing plans for a desktop version of the Edits app.
Last week, YouTube announced the development of a conversational video editing tool, slated for release in early next year. Creators will have restrictions on using the Edits AI tool, but a Meta One subscription can provide access to more usage. Image credit: featured image.
