Instagram explores read-only mode with no likes, comments or messages

Instagram is exploring a read-only mode that “is an internal only exploration, not testing externally at all,” a spokesperson told Engadget.. Screenshots posted on X by leaker and reverse engineer Alessando Paluzzi describe a session in which users “can’t like, comment, message, follow or view stories” on the social network..

The proposed mode would let users browse Instagram without interacting with content or leaving a visible trail of what they viewed. It remains an internal concept rather than a feature available for users to try.. The images shared by Paluzzi suggest Instagram is considering the option for Instagram Plus accounts..
