UK data center firm Volta has appointed a new chief executive officer.. – Volta. Jason Liggins has taken charge at the company following its separation from Verne and acquisition by Arcus.. “My focus will be on leading the growth of the Volta business, strengthening our position in the London market, and expanding the platform through the acquisition of additional sites as we build Volta into a multi‑site operator.
I’m looking forward to driving this next phase of growth in close collaboration with Arcus,” Liggins said on LinkedIn this week.. Liggins was previously CEO of Crown Hosting, the government-focused hosting joint venture between Ark Data Centres and the UK Government. He was at the helm of the company for two years, but had been with Ark since 2014..
Volta’s 6MW, 91,000 square foot (8,450 sqm) carrier-neutral colocation and interconnection facility is located in central London and serves customers across financial services, telecoms, IT and enterprise sectors. It hosts more than 40 carriers.. Volta has operated the facility since 2013.
It was previously a Reuters facility from the 1980s that the company refurbished.. Volta was acquired by infrastructure investor D9 in 2022 and merged with European colo provider Verne. The combined company was sold to investment firm Ardian in 2024 as D9 was wound down, and Volta was then separately acquired by investment firm Arcus Infrastructure Partners earlier this year..
