Wandercraft Acquires Ekso Bionics from ChronoScale to Form World’s Largest Medical Exoskeleton Powerhouse

What You Ought to Know. Wandercraft, a leader in advanced physical AI and robotics for mobility, has recently revealed its acquisition of Ekso Bionics, Inc. The transaction, approved unanimously by both boards of directors from ChronoScale Holdings Corporation’s subsidiary, was signed and closed simultaneously without disclosing financial terms.

This business combination unites Wandercraft’s physical AI, dynamic balance robotics, and European/EMEA market leadership with Ekso Bionics’ extensive U.S. clinical experience and commercial infrastructure, creating the largest medical exoskeleton manufacturer globally. The merger establishes a unified global clinical footprint for upright gait and mobility training in over 700 rehabilitation and research centers worldwide, offering combined institutional coverage in the United States, Europe, and international markets.

This collaboration brings together two fleets for clinical rehabilitation and everyday mobility. The unified platform will maintain support for the four main clinical and personal devices, creating a comprehensive chain of care that spans from intensive inpatient neurological recovery to self-sufficient everyday life.

The Institutional Clinical Rehabilitation, also known as Atalante X and EksoNR, has a collective set of hardware that facilitates upright standing and gait therapy in over 700 rehabilitation centers globally. The FDA-approved and CE-certified systems cover various conditions like stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and acquired brain injury.

The product lineup includes the Eve and Indego Personal for individuals with spinal cord injuries, offering flexible solutions for everyday mobility. The Unified Clinical Support Network connects rehabilitation centers with specialists trained in both Atalante X and EksoNR, enabling personalized therapy protocols.

Lastly, the HCPCS K1007 code helps overcome commercial reimbursement challenges. In the past, the usage of personal exoskeletons in the US was hindered due to the high expenses of around $75,000 to $100,000 per exoskeleton unit that had to be borne by individuals. Wandercraft has established a specialized market access system to facilitate the growth of individual adoption within the Medicare framework.
