Asad Malik named head of compute finance & strategy at Anthropic, joins from Google

Asad Malik has been appointed the head of compute finance & strategy at generative AI firm Anthropic.. Malik spent the last seven years at Google, where he was the head of AI/ML infrastructure and strategy. He previously held roles at Goldman Sachs, Towers Watson, and LSE.. – Anthropic. “Excited to announce that I am joining Anthropic as head of compute finance,” Malik said on LinkedIn.. “I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with exceptionally talented folks and help drive Anthropic’s mission to safely transition the world through transformative AI.. “My team at Anthropic is hiring – reach out if you are excited about our mission and the challenge of scaling world-leading compute infrastructure.”.

The hire comes a month after the founding member and US investment lead for the $100 billion Brookfield AI Infrastructure Fund left for Anthropic. Jake Gross joined in May to work on compute transactions, as well as capital markets and corporate development.. That same month, Daniel Kwiatkowski joined the finance & strategy, compute infrastructure, coming from AI-focused Emirati state-owned investment firm MGX..

The finance team also includes Daniel Feeney, who joined last year from ServiceNow. Bryce Carlson has operated as the company’s head of compute transactions since December, after roles at Lucid Motors and Amazon Web Services.. The company is currently hiring for a director of infrastructure & energy accounting “to lead technical accounting for our most complex infrastructure and energy arrangements — the data center leases, power purchase agreements, and related structures underpinning our recently announced $50bn investment in American computing infrastructure.”.
