The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) has launched a call for tender for the acquisition, delivery, installation, and maintenance of Italy’s forthcoming Innovate supercomputer.. The tender description states that the Innovate project “aims to deliver an industrial-grade HPC system that will provide advanced computing, AI, cloud, and data processing services for European industry.”. The tender has an estimated total value of €11.6 million ($13.3m), of which the EU has contributed €4.1 million ($4.6m) through the Digital Europe Programme.
The deadline for submissions is September 8, 2026.. Launched in 2018 and headquartered in Luxembourg, EuroHPC JU is a joint initiative between the EU, 35 European countries, and private partners to develop a supercomputing ecosystem in Europe.. The organization first put out calls in 2024 for ‘industrial-grade’ supercomputers, described as ‘mid-range systems’ designed to meet the security, confidentiality, and data integrity requirements of industrial users..
