Anthropic considers leasing compute from Meta in $10bn deal

Anthropic is in the very early stages of discussing leasing computing power from Meta.. The New York Times and CNBC report that the two businesses are in preliminary discussions, following Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s May comments that the company was considering entering the cloud computing business.. – Sebastian Moss.

The deal could be worth as much as $10 billion over two years. Anthropic proposed the idea in June, and the contract would include the ability for either company to pull out over the course of the two years.. In May, Anthropic signed a similar contract with SpaceXAI worth $45 billion over three years for access to the Colossus 1 supercomputer..
