Google has launched an experimental AI service called CC that is designed to help families and small groups manage schedules, tasks and shared information.. The service uses a dedicated Google account that can be shared with up to six family members, who can decide which information to send to the agent..
Users can forward individual emails to CC when needed or choose specific email addresses whose messages are always sent to the shared account. CC also creates a shared calendar and task list that all members can view.. The platform sends daily briefings to participants with upcoming events and to-do items.
It can also help complete paperwork, fill out registration forms and create shopping lists.. Google said CC is designed to ask for a user’s permission before taking action on tasks.. The product reworks an earlier Google experiment with the same name.
Google introduced a tool called CC in December, then rebranded it earlier this year as Daily Briefing before shifting the project toward family organization after feedback from early testers.. Users can add CC to a Google Drive folder or share specific files with the agent. They can also interact with it through a dedicated Google Chat window..
Google said in its FAQ that CC cannot add or remove family members and cannot access or search individual inboxes.. Existing CC users will receive prompts to upgrade their accounts to use the new tools, while new users must join a waitlist to access the planning features.. Featured image credit.
