Pinterest expands Nvidia partnership for AI discovery

Pinterest announced an expanded partnership with Nvidia to upgrade the app’s artificial intelligence-driven discovery and visual search systems.. The company said the new setup will let Pinterest add more AI features with lower infrastructure investment while improving performance across the platform..

Pinterest said the system is built on Nvidia’s accelerated computing platform, using Nvidia Blackwell GPUs, Nvidia Dynamo and Pinterest’s own visual embeddings. It said the shared foundation will allow its teams to build and launch multimodal AI products without creating custom infrastructure for each product..

The updated process will support the next stage of Pinterest’s visual search through broader content understanding and improved safety systems.. “With NVIDIA, Pinterest is turning 80 billion+ monthly searches into high-value signals for AI-powered discovery and shopping, enabling Pinterest Assistant to run 25x more visual context per request,” Pinterest said..

Pinterest said benchmark testing showed average gains of about 85 times faster response startup and 7.3 times faster overall latency when using precomputed visual representations instead of repeatedly processing raw images.. The expanded agreement builds on Pinterest’s existing partnership with Nvidia and establishes what Pinterest described as a long-term platform relationship for future visual and conversational experiences across the service..
