Kushagra Vaid appointed CEO of Omniva

Neocloud Omniva has chosen Kushagra Vaid to be its new CEO, amidst several notable individuals leaving the company. Vaid began working at Omniva in the first quarter of 2023 as the Executive Vice President of AI cloud. Prior to this, he spent 13 years at Microsoft Azure and held positions at Lighmatter, d-Matric, and InsidePacket.

This news was reported on November 30, 2023. Financed by Kuwaiti funds, Omniva was initially established as a cryptomining business, but transformed its focus to AI workloads in 2023 after the release of ChatGPT. In both endeavors, the company aimed to create its own dual-stage immersion cooling technology.

Vaid became part of the company’s transformation, along with Sean Boyle (previous CFO of AWS), T.S. Khurana (former VP of infrastructure at Meta), Tyson Lamoreaux (ex-VP of Amazon’s Project Kuiper, software, networking & infrastructure services), Matthew Taylor (previous employee of SambaNova and Ampere), and Somnuk Ratanaphanyarat (TSMC).

Nonetheless, many of these recruits have left Omniva. Khurana and Taylor departed in 2024, Lamoreaux exited in June of 2025, and COO Boyle departed this June. During this month, the technical lead, Aaron Zou, departed from the organization.

Additionally, Kalin Stamenov, who was previously a McKinsey associate and essentially served as Omniva’s CEO, left the company in August. It seems that the company did not formally have a CEO until Vaid’s appointment, with Stamenov being designated as Senior Vice President and General Manager of AI data centers.

Stamenov has started his own data center company, named Terisys, while the present situation of Omniva is still uncertain. The firm has not reacted to queries for feedback. A past PR contact’s email was returned with a recommendation to send a message to a departed coworker.
