Hinge Health to Acquire Cylinder Health | Abridge Welcomes the Altrina Team

Take a look at the highlighted companies that have recently finalized an M&A transaction, and don’t forget to explore the comprehensive archive of previous healthcare IT M&A activities. In the latest development, Hinge Health is acquiring Cylinder Health, thereby entering the realm of gastrointestinal care.

The acquisition speeds up Hinge Health’s entry into a significant unaddressed area of healthcare, as they prepare to launch an integrated gastrointestinal care program by 2027. Hinge Health, Incorporated Today revealed that it has inked a final pact to purchase Cylinder Health, Inc.

Virtual-first digestive healthcare company, leading in its field, acquired for $105 million in cash. By acquiring this company, Hinge Health plans to introduce a comprehensive Gastrointestinal (GI) Care Program alongside its current Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Migraine Care Programs.

Around one in four adults in the U.S. suffer from GI conditions, resulting in $135 billion spent annually on medical treatment. However, the care for these conditions is often fragmented and challenging to obtain. The symptoms persist and cause inconvenience, and a majority of regions in the United States do not have access to a gastroenterologist, which is 69%.

Consequently, individuals frequently move between primary and urgent care facilities without a well-defined treatment strategy. Daniel Perez, Co-Founder and CEO at Hinge Health, commented, “We are venturing into GI care due to the requests of our members and clients.”
