Soltier cryptomine proposal delayed in Bradford County, Pennsylvania

Plans for a cryptocurrency mining facility in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, have faced another delay after local planning officials held up progress on the proposal.. The Bradford County planning commission has been reviewing a land development application from Soltier LLC for a proposed crypto data mine at 133 Sullivan Street in Towanda, Wysox Township.. – Google Maps.

The project would be located on a 2.686-acre parcel that already includes gravel parking, driveways, a main building, an attached carport, electrical equipment, and existing Antbox crypto mining machines.. Under the proposal, Soltier would remove the existing gravel and structures on site before regrading the property.

The company is seeking to install a larger electrical service and 27 new Antboxes for crypto mining.. Local broadcaster WENY reported that the county planning commission halted progress on several projects at its June 16 meeting, including the cryptomine proposal and several solar farm developments..

The June 16 agenda listed Soltier’s application as seeking conditional/preliminary approval, contingent on comments from Keystone Associates Architects, a regional architecture, engineering, and surveying firm.. Earlier county documents show the proposal has been moving through the planning process for several months.

The application was tabled at the December 2025 meeting, while a 90-day extension was requested in February 2026. A second submission was received in March, and a review meeting between the engineer and developer was held later that month.. The proposed power capacity of the mining facility has not been disclosed in publicly available planning documents..

The cryptomine application is one of a number of energy-related land development proposals under review in Bradford County. These include the PAL115 Tarbox Solar Project in Canton Township, a proposed 3MW photovoltaic facility from Pivot Energy that would include more than 6,600 solar panels and connect to the grid along State Route 14..

The delays come amid growing scrutiny of crypto mining and other energy-intensive digital infrastructure projects across the US, particularly in rural areas where developments have faced questions over power use, noise, land use, and grid impact.. The Bradford County planning commission is a nine-member board appointed by the county commissioners.

According to the county, the commission advises on coordinated development and administers the county’s subdivision and land development ordinance across most municipalities.. More in Construction & Site Selection. 30 Jan 2026.
