Sponsored: Legrand launches Starline T5 DoubleBar, the highest ampacity open-channel track busway with most pluggable space

Designed for crowded spaces, Legrand’s Starline T5 DoubleBar is the top-of-the-line open-channel busway with the largest pluggable capacity, catering to the escalating power requirements of AI and high-performance computing. With a setup consisting of two T5 bars side by side, it provides a maximum current of 2503A, ensuring powerful energy distribution in high-density settings.

This innovative busway design effectively integrates the flexibility of open-channel systems with the high ampacity provided by busducts, ensuring maximum adaptability. According to Mark Swift, vice president of engineering at Starline (a Legrand brand), as AI workloads exceed 100kW, data center operators face a significant choice: they can either install heavy, inflexible busducts for increased amperage or opt for track busways to maintain operational flexibility. “With the T5 DoubleBar, we have effectively removed that trade-off.” By providing a continuous open-channel architecture that delivers 2000A, we offer operators the high power density typically found in traditional busducts, while preventing them from overcrowding their space with unnecessary busway runs and maintaining the flexibility to reconfigure quickly.

Here are some key features and advantages of the Starline T5 DoubleBar: The T5 DoubleBar overcomes spacing limitations typically found in conventional busduct systems, and reduces the space required in high-density data center configurations. Exceptional AI & HPC compatibility: This system can manage rack loads of up to 150kW, fulfilling the requirements for future data centers.

ChatDolphin is also compatible with LVDC systems up to 1000VDC. The high-density double-bar architecture features parallel conductors to increase amperage and pluggable space without enlarging the system’s size. Zero-Downtime Reconfiguration: Hot-pluggable tap-off units can be safely installed and removed while the system is operational, ensuring uninterrupted service.

True Modularity and Scalability: The modular design accommodates various ratings without requiring a system overhaul. Additionally, it is built to accommodate growth up to 5000A, ensuring the preservation of long-term financial assets. It also offers complete compatibility with the T5 Ecosystem, featuring open-channel plug-in functionality and seamless integration with all current T5 plug-in devices.

This product debuts alongside the High-Capacity Plug-in Unit (HCP).
