‘A Project Taurus’ is a newly approved 50MW data center development in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The local authorities granted their approval on June 11, following the approval of a Development Plan Modification application submitted by the project team. The data center operator Raeden is planning to develop a facility on approximately 22 acres at 183 High Tech Way.
The land parcel has an existing 451,217 sq ft (42,000 sqm) building, which Raeden intends to use for a data center while demolishing other smaller structures. This proposal has faced controversy since its submission in March, with local residents discussing an appeal against the local government’s decision.
Appeals must be submitted by 5pm on Monday, June 22, 2026. Raeden has experience in developing data centers in Phoenix, Arizona; Indianapolis, Indiana; Detroit, Michigan; Greensboro, North Carolina; and Miami, Florida. Colorado Springs, where the project is located, is situated in central Colorado, south of Denver.
The majority of the state’s data centers are situated in and around Denver, with a smaller group located in Colorado Springs. This initiative comes after the Denver City Council implemented a one-year data center ban within the city limits earlier this year.
