CoreWeave has unveiled CoreWeave Forge, an integrated software platform for organizations to develop, run, and continuously improve AI models and agents. Announced today (Sept. 30) during the company’s Fully Connected event in San Francisco, Forge extends the AI cloud provider’s strategy beyond GPU infrastructure to the software layer enterprises need to develop, operate, and refine AI applications..
“We have moved from a focus on being the best provider for AI-centric infrastructure to delivering a plethora of AI services to enable customers to build AI applications on our platform,” said Corey Sanders, CoreWeave’s senior vice president of product management, at a media briefing during the Fully Connected event.. CoreWeave said Forge, available today, unifies existing products with new software into a stack for training, inference, evaluation, observability, and agent development.
The platform is built around an “AI loop”: deploying models and agents, observing and evaluating them, and using results to drive continuous improvement.. Early partners include VAST Data, CrowdStrike, and ClickHouse.. Hardware Updates: Nvidia Vera CPU and Vera Rubin NVL72. On hardware, CoreWeave is in the early phases of making Nvidia’s Vera CPU for AI agents available to customers, with some early access underway and broader testing to follow in the coming weeks, Sanders said.
The company also said the Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 is now available on its cloud platform. AI startup Cognition is the first customer to run workloads on the AI hardware platform and was up and running in two days, he added.. Analyst View: Ecosystem and Hardware Investments Aim for Broad Appeal.
IDC analyst Dave McCarthy said CoreWeave’s announcements show the company is trying to further separate itself from specialized AI cloud providers such as Nebius, Lambda, and Vultr, while competing with AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure for AI workloads.. “CoreWeave has recognized that it’s great to get these big AI labs, but if they’re going to build a long-term sustainable business, then they need to be able to appeal to a wider audience, including enterprises,” McCarthy said.
“That requires a bigger ecosystem of software. It requires more capabilities – things that feel more turnkey and less like a DIY project.”. McCarthy added that CoreWeave is taking a multifaceted approach: “They’re not just trying to win on the software with Forge.
They’re continuing to invest in Nvidia hardware, especially those Vera CPUs. They’re not letting off the gas on all the hardware stuff just because [they’re building] software.”. Related:The Next Generation of AI Infrastructure Design Starts with Efficiency.
CoreWeave Forge: Notebooks, Agent Lens, and RL Features at Launch. CoreWeave said Forge is available in three editions: Free, Pro, and Enterprise.. According to Sanders, new and updated tools include:.
CoreWeave Notebooks: managed Python notebooks that run in the same environment as production workloads.. CoreWeave Agent Lens: an intelligent observability and continuous improvement tool for production agents that analyzes traces and generates insights.. RL Rollouts: a new inference-related reinforcement learning capability..
CoreWeave Aria, previously in preview, is now available. The AI research assistant helps customers move through the AI loop by analyzing data and recommending improvements, Sanders said.. Forge is open across the models, frameworks, and clouds that teams use, the company said.
