AI cloud startup Firebird.ai has launched its Armenian AI data center, the largest such facility in the Caucasus region.. In a statement, the company said the facility is expected to have 300MW of total capacity by the end of 2027. Built on the Nvidia DSX platform, the data center will be powered by more than 70,000 Nvidia Rubin and Blackwell GPUs..

Previous announcements from the company stated that the data center, located in Hrazdan, 45 kilometres (28 miles) northeast of the Armenian capital Yerevan, would total 100MW.. Funded via a $500 million public-private partnership with the Armenian government, Nvidia and Dell Technologies are also collaborating with the cloud startup on the facility, with Firebird stating that Nvidia “intends to invest in the company.” Fellow AI cloud provider CoreWeave invested in Firebird earlier this year..
Schneider Electric has provided the power infrastructure to support the data center, while Vertiv has provided the cooling technology.. “Our ambition for what we are building in the next two years or so is roughly 2GW of capacity around the world. We’re very focused on merging into frontier markets,” said Alexander Yesayan, co-founder of Firebird..
The data center was first announced in June 2025, with Firebird emerging from stealth at the same time, having secured investment from the Afeyan Foundation for Armenia in addition to the Armenian government.. In February 2026, following a meeting with US Vice President JD Vance, the company said it had secured a US export license for 41,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs, marking the second phase of its AI supercomputing ‘megaproject’ and bringing the total number of GPUs it has procured to 50,000..
The following month, Armenian bank Ameriabank announced that it had put up $60m in financing for Firebird’s data center.. Armenia has a small existing data center market. Rostelecom-owned Armenian telco Ovio, Datacom, and Arminco operate data centers in the capital, Yerevan.
