Former Digital Realty, Equinix, and CyrusOne executive Krupal Raval has been named CEO of Theseus Infrastructure, the new data center company backed by Anthropic.. Raval will lead Theseus, which was launched by Anthropic, Macquarie Asset Management, and GIC last month.. Writing on LinkedIn, Raval said: “Our job is simple to say and hard to do: build, run, and lease the data centers Anthropic needs to keep up with demand for Claude..
“We’re starting in the US, and we’re not doing this alone. We get to lean on Macquarie’s decades of experience building large-scale infrastructure and GIC’s global investing expertise, which means we can move fast without cutting corners. And these aren’t just server farms; they’re projects that bring real construction jobs and long-term operational roles to the communities that host them.”.
Adding that he has never been more excited to start a new role, Raval added: “Grateful to be trusted with this, and looking forward to sharing more as we break ground.”. Raval worked for Digital Realty for five years before joining Equinix, where he led the xScale build-out of data centers for hyperscale clients.
GIC is a joint venture partner with Equinix on several xScale facilities. DCD spoke to Raval about his role at the company in 2025.. 17 Jun 2025.
After leaving Equinix, he spent a year as executive vice president and chief strategy office at CyrusOne, before leaving to join Theseus.. The Theseus platform will develop, operate, and lease data center infrastructure at scale to Anthropic under long-term agreements.. Each facility will be purpose-built to support Anthropic’s growing capacity needs, and the parties will work together to identify and develop new sites for which Anthropic will be the anchor tenant, with an initial focus on the United States..
Anthropic said last year that it plans to spend $50 billion on data centers in the US. It said that it will build data centers with Fluidstack in Texas and New York, with more sites to come. It is known to be leasing capacity from TeraWulf, Hut 8, and SpaceX..
The creator of Claude has also signed large-scale deals with cloud providers including Google, Amazon, Akamai, and CoreWeave.. Established by the Government of Singapore in 1981, GIC is an investor in multiple data center firms including Vantage’s EMEA platform..
