Microsoft reveals Azure earnings for the first time, adjusts financial reporting practices

Microsoft has adjusted its financial reporting practices, revealing its Azure-specific income for the first time.. In a presentation shared with investors, the company shows that revenue specifically attached to its Azure cloud offerings brought in $29.42bn in the most recent quarter, and $101.94bn for the full fiscal year of 2026..

This was up from $20.7bn and $72.6bn the year prior, respectively.. The company’s earnings results were originally posted in late July, during which its intelligent cloud division, which included Azure, posted $39.3bn.. Comparatively, Amazon Web Services (AWS) brought in $42.2bn for the most recent quarter, while Google’s cloud revenue was $24.8bn..

The company will, moving forward, report earnings split into two overarching segments: Agents and Infra, which will include apps, agents, Microsoft 365, and Azure, and Devices and Consumer, which includes search, advertising, Xbox, and Windows.. The company says that investors will have “full transparency of quarterly revenue across each of our key businesses” from 2027 onwards..
