MCP Could Make Your Health Context Portable to the AI You Choose

The text below is a guest post written by Bryan Barash, the Founder of Wellness Project LLC. Many health-conscious individuals have inadvertently created a rather intricate information hierarchy. Your smartwatch is aware of your sleep patterns.

Your fitness application is aware of the weights you have lifted. The nutrition app you use is aware of your meals. Your weighing scale is aware of your weight.

The Apple Health or Health Connect could possess several years’ worth of heart-rate data and other activity records. Health data is something we have mastered in collecting, but labs and medical records can be found elsewhere. Despite our progress, we continue to struggle with allowing individuals to fully utilize the entirety of historical data.

This is why I believe the Model Context Protocol (MCP) holds promise in health technology. Currently, many health apps are designed with a focus on dashboards.
