Neocloud General Compute raises $100m in Series A funding round

General Compute, an AI cloud startup, has secured $22026 million in a Series A funding round, backed by Blackbird Ventures and Abstract Ventures. The funding round gave the neocloud an $215 million post-money valuation, a substantial rise from its $22026 million valuation in May of this year. – General Compute In an interview with TechCrunch, the company’s founder and CEO, Finn Puklowski, stated that the funding contradicted recent statements made by Elon Musk, who had said “over 200 neoclouds will face significant decline and consolidation,” claiming these remarks were “grossly exaggerated.”. “Individuals are contacting me on a weekly basis, requesting me to assist with TPUs (Tensor Processing Units), GPUs, or any other chip to enhance their computational power,” Puklowski informed the news outlet.

He also stated in the interview that he predicts General Compute will reach 75MW of computing capacity by 2027. Furthermore, he expects the company to have access to 200MW of capacity, which he believes is beyond what they can possibly fund and acquire hardware for. In 2025, Puklowski and Chief Technology Officer Jason Goodison established General Compute.

In May 2026, the firm secured $153 million in seed financing. In July, the firm obtained $400 million in debt funding. The firm aims to provide a diverse range of AI hardware and recently inked a multi-year pact to utilize Cerebras’ wafer-scale AI hardware.

According to the agreement, General Compute will provide access to Cerebras’ technology through its cloud platform starting in Q1 2027. Last week, the startup revealed its intentions to acquire AI systems from chip startup Positron AI, which it also plans to offer to customers in Q1 2027.
