NTT Data reports half a billion dollars of data center investment in Q1 financial results

Japanese IT service provider NTT Data has revealed more than half a billion dollars of investment in data centers, with sales of $733 million in its Q1 FY2026 financial results.. The company, which is part of the NTT Group, reported net sales of $8 billion, up 15.8 percent year-over-year (YoY); net new orders of $9.15 billion, up 29.7 percent YoY; and an operating profit of $398 million, up 9 percent YoY.. – Giacomo Lee/SDxCentral.

The overall operating margin of the company was five percent.. NTT Data also reported $634 million in data center investment in the April to June 2026 period, with sales of $733 million creating an operating margin of 33 percent.. “Japan is in the midst of the most consequential economic transition in a generation,” said Kazuhiko Nakayama, recently appointed president and CEO of NTT Data Group..

“The corporate landscape is being reshaped by consolidation, renewed investment, and a fundamental shift in pricing models. For a company of our scale, this shift changes the calculus on everything from capital allocation to how we price our services and where we choose to invest for growth.”.

Nakayama went on to discuss complex global market conditions, such as US policy uncertainty, European regulatory complexity, and the push towards AI adoption for its enterprise clients. Despite these constraints, Nakayama said the company’s results demonstrated continued and healthy demand from customers to “modernize operations, accelerate transformation, and enter the next phase of AI adoption.”.
