SpaceX signs compute contract valued at $13.3bn annually

SpaceX has signed another major compute capacity contract for its data centers.. CFO Bret Johnson revealed during the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026 that the company’s annual income from compute deals now totals $41.1 billion.. – Google Maps. As reported by Investing.com, this is the result of the company signing an additional contract worth $13.3bn annually, or $1.11bn on a monthly basis..

The new contract will begin generating revenue in December 2026 and is SpaceX’s fourth major AI capacity agreement this year. CFO Johnson described it as a hosting deal for an AI customer, though the customer was not named.. The company has previously signed agreements with the likes of Anthropic ($1.25bn per month), Google Cloud ($920 million per month), and Reflection AI ($150m per month)..

In July of this year, the company was reportedly in talks with the Department of Defense regarding a compute deal for the Pentagon that could be worth billions of dollars.. SpaceX had an estimated 1.4GW of data center capacity live as of June 30, 2026, but is aiming to cross 2GW by the end of the year and near 10GW by the end of 2027..

The company’s xAI subsidiary was originally focused on developing its own LLM – Grok – and used the compute capacity at its Colossus data center in Memphis, Tennessee, internally. This seems to have taken a turn, however, with CEO Elon Musk revealing after the Anthropic deal that the company was actively seeking more data center compute customers..

Its portfolio includes the Colossus 1 and 2 data centers. A third data center is in the works, located in Southaven, and the company has begun development on a fourth data center around Memphis, Tennessee.. The company went public in June of this year.

Following its IPO, the company’s value rapidly increased, bringing it close to $3 trillion. This has since come back down, however. It currently has a market cap of $2 trillion..
